This was a tour de force.

Imagine the gall of people doing their own research and finding out that MSNBC, CNN, NPR, Atlantic Magazine, etc, are steeped in bullshit. I started doing my research and noticed liberal media wasn't covering any scandals for important, and often manufacturing scandals against Republicans. It was shocking to my liberal senses! And then I saw how vile my uppity liberal friends became when Trump was elected. The Kavanaugh debacle cemented my beginning contempt for liberal media and they concocted story after story of abject caca; frankly, that only dimwits could believe. And now, with the advent of Substack, we can find a plethora of free thinkers like you, Anthony.

Well, the media blob they work within believe their narratives because it's a joint project. And millions of Americans believe them. But the tide is turning where, if they want to maintain credibility and gain broader reach, they'll need to be open to being questioned and stop functioning as the PR office of a narrative-creating government.

These people are addicted to the smell of their own farts, not realizing that they have cleared the room of everyone else. Barreling toward irrelevance and it can’t come too soon.

I don’t know how low their ratings or subscriptions would have to be for them to start hiring people who can produce thoughtful journalism. But as long as the people signing the paychecks share the same politics and worldviews, and as long as they can rely on advertiser money, they’ll maintain the status quo. But, as you suggest, they will become irrelevant as people go elsewhere for their news.
